Brass (Living Finish)

Please note that finishes are indication only, these may look different on different screens and photos.

Refined

The brass base metal is polished to a high shine. Left un-coated, it will acquire a rich golden brown patina. The colour of weathered/aged finishes will also continue to evolve over time and can verdigris in certain climatic conditions. If specifying this or any other living finish, you should be aware that in most natural environments, verdigris is to be expected and results from the chemical reaction of salt spray, dust, or weather conditions on metal. If this is not the result you want on your hardware, please discuss with your specifier who can give you information on the advantages or disadvantages of other alternatives.

Refined/aged finishes should be cleaned regularly to remove grime and corrosive particles using a soft cloth and a mild solution of detergent and water. The frequency of cleaning will be dictated by how your hardware weathers in your particular environment. For best results, dry the hardware with a lint free, soft cloth after cleaning.

Weathered

A textured surface on brass, then aged to provide either a light, dark or extra dark, matt brass surface.
